FileFreak.io

Cloud storage, rebuilt as a developer platform.

Overview

A cloud drive that grew into a platform: files, static sites, git repositories, npm packages and container images under one account and one usage-based bill. It ships with a Rust CLI, a desktop client, a TypeScript SDK and a documented API. The developer tools are in beta, and this site is one of the sites it hosts.

How it's built.

  • File bytes never touch the API

The API signs short-lived addresses and the browser or CLI talks to storage directly, with resumable multipart uploads. The folder tree lives in Postgres, so a move or a rename is a single update.

  • Sends only what changed

Content-defined chunking (FastCDC), shared by the Rust CLI and the TypeScript SDK: a new version of a large file uploads only the blocks that changed.

  • Shard Protection

A protected file is cut into fragments, each encrypted on the client with AES-256-GCM under its own key and spread across separate storage accounts. The format is published, versioned and pinned by byte-for-byte test vectors.

  • Speaks the real protocols

A private npm registry, an OCI container registry that passes the official conformance suite, and git over HTTPS with Git LFS. Each is acceptance-tested with the real npm, Docker and git clients.

  • Sites at the edge

Static hosting on a Cloudflare Worker: custom domains, deploys that upload only changed files, rollback across the last ten deploys, and cookieless analytics added at the edge.

  • One platform, every surface

A Rust CLI with two-way folder sync tested over thousands of seeded random histories, a Tauri desktop client that reuses the website's own React components, and a typed SDK on npm.
