How it's built.
Photos without a rebuild
The build lists the photo folders with the FileFreak SDK. The visitor's browser then checks the public folder for changes, and preloads a new first photo before swapping it in.
322 MB down to 3.7 MB
An image pipeline turns any upload into an upright WebP of at most 2560 pixels, with camera and location metadata stripped.
Right-sized on every screen
srcset from FileFreak's 512, 1024 and 2048 pixel copies, with phones capped near 2x: a 3x iPhone fetches a quarter of the bytes.
WCAG 2.2 AA
axe-core passes on phone and laptop. Slideshows follow the WAI-ARIA carousel pattern and hold still for reduced motion, and the phone menu is a real dialog.
Deployed on every push
EZPIPELINE lints, typechecks, builds and deploys on each push to main, with rollback across the last ten deploys.
